There is a massive overhaul of skills, introduction of passive skills and big increase of regular skills. How does front mission 2 looks like gameplay wise compared to this untouched front mission 1 gameplay found in this remake? What are the differences?įront Mission 2 expands on many Front Mission 1 systems. But the first game is very outdated in almost all aspects. Until then i look forward to the other remakes and Kriegsfront Tacticsįront Mission 2 and onwards are advanced enough to not require any major changes. And who knows, if the remakes sell well enough maybe we get a new one. A new FM or FM-like game would have been even better but still as this genre and setting is not the most popular one i am quite happy with what we got. many flaws and outdated concepts got remade too. I am happy that we got a remake of FM1 but you are right. Guns that can only shoot enemies from 4 directions from the next tile and also need only very shallow elevation differences. And even those are clearly outdated for today but this one with SNES era gameplay is just just too silly. Perhaps even taking mechanics from battletech too both the video game, mods and the tabletop game? Or perhaps even taking notes from recent Phantom Brigade, or heck an indie front mission inspired game titled Kriegsfront Tactics? But also the 4th game, although I know the dev already said only 3 games. But I really wish they would do something significant for the 3rd game remake. Now I know the remake for the 2nd game is already way near completion so I can't expect anything being actually remade for that game too. I guess with how many units you can control in a battle compared to the later games would make remaking such gameplay a steep challenge. First I need to admit that I only played (and beaten) FM3 and 4 beforehand.
